<<IW-RP>>
Plot 43, Ward 3, The Goblet (Large)
With a roster of character-types from all walks of life, there is a certain reputation that preceeds the mercenary company known as The Iron Wolves - one that sees them in relatively odd spaces more often than not. While they are known to take on the normal Adventurer's Guild job here and there, what they are most known for is the research, acquisition, and containment (or destruction) of ancient items that might be classified as "relics" or "artifacts".
Recruitment is currently CLOSED .
Who are We? (OOC)
The Iron Wolves was created in 2020 by Ayeh Wicthaa and Shi'anla Radusk, with a focus on creating a space of togetherness, and furthering individual character stories, through the means of collaborative storytelling. While many things have changed since that time, what hasn't is the fact that this is a space in which players will find community, inclusivity, and compassion. We do not tolerate racism, homophobia, transphobia, or any other sort of intolerance that puts others down.We are a Free-Company that explores the darker elements of storytelling, such as horror and thriller themes in all their forms, and it is for that reason that this community is one made up of adults that are 21 and over. It is also for this reason that we believe heavily in OOC communication during certain IC interactions.
What are our Free Company's features?
We offer a friendly, laid-back, and mature community of adults that are willing to team up and help out. As a community, we strive for inclusivity and ensuring that everyone feels welcome and like a part of something. There are several members that are always willing to team up and help with all kinds of PVE content, as mentioned before.
Sprouts, Returners, and Veteran Players welcome.
New Blood Onboarding (IC): The IC portion of your application is considered your character’s “paperwork”, negating any real need for an interview. Once you have been accepted, a member of the admin team will get with your character for introductions, be available IC for any questions your character may have, and give a small tour of the FC Grounds. Once that is done, your character just needs to participate in a job to be promoted to Iron Wolf.
New Blood Onboarding (OOC): Upon being accepted into the FC, you will be placed into the “New Bloods Corner” in our discord, where you will be able to ask questions should you have them for the admin team. As the team is both US/EU, and have various IRL obligations, it might take a little time to answer things, but we will get to you as we are able! We have a space for you to do an OOC introduction, as well as a space for you to do an IC introduction of your character(s). We highly encourage you to use those so that the community can better get to know you!
A custom and straightforward die-based RP Event System. Our in-house RP Event System is a modified, and simplified version of the 5e system - though it is important to note that you do not need any previous experience with tabletop. We have admins ready to help you with any questions that you may have. We do our best to ensure that your characters can be properly represented within a system that is both balanced and not overwhelming.
Relic Hunts: Relic Hunts are the main bread and butter of this FC, and it is here where players will find several “mini-jobs” that will eventually culminate in a large-scale FC event. There may only be three Relic Hunts taking place at one time. Admins and trusted DMs will always run these, and post jobs in relation to them.
Rumors and Requests: This is where small-scale, one-off jobs may be posted by IW-RP members or Affiliates - meant to break up the larger missions, while also giving a space that can promote the furthering of personal character stories.
The Regular Job Board: From time to time, the Iron Wolves will also take other jobs to break up the monotony of Relic and Artifact retrieval. These will generally be C-Rank style missions that everyone can take part in.
We have a large-sized plot designed for RP inside and outside, with additional private quarters designed for public use. What you decide to use your FC room for is up to you, but please note that if it is intended for public use, ERP is not permitted within it, as is the case with all public areas of the FC.
What sort of members are we ICly looking for?
Mostly Lore Abiding. Some bending of the FFXIV lore is fine, especially given how some things are left vague enough that we have to fill in the blanks. That said, we ask that these bends are adequately justified by the character’s history, that whatever it is, it does not break the immersion of other players, and that ultimately it does not break lore completely.
Personalities and Histories from all walks of life. We have no requirements that your characters be mercenaries - but we do ask that they at least have some combat experience. We accept non-combatants, but you will be entering this space with the understanding that you will be missing out on the majority of RP that we do.
Experts in Academic/Studied Fields - Are you a specialist in a certain field? Chances are, the Iron Wolves could use your expertise!
What sort of players are we looking for?
We are looking for players who want to grow their stories through cooperation with others, as we do not operate on solo-run IC missions.
We are looking for players who are active. Please do not drop your alt in this FC and just leave them.
We are looking for players that are laid-back, and community oriented.
A Special Note on Healers: IW-RP believes strongly in player agency, autonomy, and consent - and given the variety of characters that make up the FC/Affiliates, we want to ensure that everyone is able to have an enjoyable experience. There should always be OOC communication between the healer and the one being healed, and ICly, each healer is expected to understand that not every character responds well to aetheric healing, or certain aetheric healing types, for varying reasons - and that not every player wants to be immediately healed.

🐺The <IW-RP> Community Rules🐺
The <<IW-RP>> Community Rules apply to interactions both in-game, and out of game in our Discord. Breaking these rules will either result in a warning or, depending on the severity, dismissal from the Free Company and removal from our Discord.Every member of the community is an adult and accountable for their own behavior. When issues arise, the Admin team will endeavor to consider all perspectives, and we recognize that everyone has room for growth. However, our role does not go beyond reaching out to guide members in the right direction, and the number of those reach-outs is finite.
🐺Age Restriction and Themes🐺
Age Restriction: All members must be at least 21 years old. All characters IC must be adults.IW-RP Themes: This FC is a mercenary company that holds a neutral alignment. We may explore themes that include horror, thriller, violence, and some criminal or underground influences.
🐺Channel Usage🐺
Please keep things to the proper channels in Discord. All channels in Discord have a description at the top, and some have further instructions for posting. If the conversation grows off-topic, an Admin will politely ask for conversations to be moved to their proper channels.
Keep heavy topics to Venting or Current Events. General Chat/FC Chat, is not a place to detail particularly bad days, vent heavy topics, nor is it a place to discuss politics, please keep those conversations solely to either the Venting or Current Events channels. This includes memes. See below for more information on the Venting channel.
🐺The Venting Channel🐺
Sometimes, we just need the encouraging voices of others to help get us through things, to offer insight, and to showcase care and compassion for one another. For this, the Admins encourage the use of our venting channel. This can be used for mundane things like venting frustrations about things happening in everyday life, or for heavy things such as expressing personal loss.
Spoiler heavy topics. If you are venting something particularly heavy, spoiler the topic and add content warnings (ex: “TW: SI”). If you are unsure what should be spoilered, please see our Server Information tab in Discord. When in doubt, play it safe and spoiler.
Sometimes, it will take people time to respond. Sometimes, members won’t know how to respond. Please do not assume it is because people do not care about your situation. We all have limits, and can only hold so much when it comes to heavier topics.
Members are not mental health professionals. Those in this server are incredibly compassionate and will do what they can to offer advice, but that is the limit of what they can offer.
Keep the focus on the individual when responding. When people are venting frustrations, do not shift the focus to your own struggles. It’s alright to use personal stories to help relate and commiserate, but do so in a way that ensures the other person and their struggles are the core of the conversation.
🐺Prohibited Content🐺
Disrespect and harassment is not allowed under any circumstance. If you are uncertain whether or not something is disrespectful, or harmful, do not post it.
No underage or underage-appearing content in NSFW channels. This includes loli, shota, and lalafell characters.
No fetishization of marginalized groups.
No glorification of hate groups or visualization of graphic violence towards real-life people or animals.
Absolutely no use of Generative AI in this server, including the Remix Tools. We stand with our Community Artists.
No doxxing members, including yourself. Any identifying information posted with or without consent is strictly prohibited on all channels and will be deleted for player safety.
Bigotry and hate is not welcome here. Our community is one that strives to be inclusive, which means that we do not tolerate homophobia, racism, transphobia, or any sort of intolerance that might be considered hateful. Memes and jokes should never punch down. If you question whether or not it would be considered punching down, do not post it.
🐺Community Respect🐺
Disrespect among members will not be tolerated. We all have varying opinions on a wide variety of topics, and not all of us are going to agree on everything. We all have moments where things might make us upset or angry, but there is no reason for any member of this community to disrespect another. Be considerate. Be kind. And if you can’t be those things, then walk away for a bit.
Tone and Text: Tone with just text can be difficult to decipher, making it easy to make an assumption. If you do not understand, or suspect you may be misunderstanding, ask for clarification rather than assuming the worst. If someone is asking for clarification, do not see it as an attack. If you are making jokes, it can sometimes be helpful to use /j or add (kidding) to indicate that you are joking.
🐺Mods and Plugins🐺
We have players who use mods, and players who do not. Please follow these do’s and don’ts to ensure we continue to be a blended community that remains healthy.
For All:
Do not: Make jokes at a modder/non-modder’s expense.
Do not: Tell people how they should enjoy their QoL in a game they pay for.
Do: Keep all conversations about Mods in the Mods Corner (or in Venting if it’s a vent).
For Modded Players:
Do not: Complain about lack of mods during the patch/expansion launches outside of Venting.
Do not: Push mods on Vanilla players. They have their reasons for being Vanilla, respect this.
Do not Use any NSFW Glamours in public FC spaces.
Do: Match your vanilla glam to your modded outfit to the best of your ability in terms of style/form (ex: try not to wear a set of armor in Vanilla when the modded outfit is a casual dress.)
For Vanilla Players:
Do not: Make fun of modders on Patch days for not having their mods.
Do: Understand what you see on your screen will not be the same as what the other player sees on theirs. There is nothing wrong with requesting a screenshot to help with visual aid.
🐺Community Conflict and Resolution🐺
Take a break if you feel yourself getting heated. Please consider taking about half an hour away from Discord if tensions start to rise. This will help clear your head so that you do not type something you might regret later.
Seek Conflict Resolution. If there is a serious issue between you and another member of the community, and you feel it cannot be resolved between the two of you, please Submit a Ticket to the Admin Team so that we can mediate.
🐺RP Rules and Guidelines🐺
Below are the Rules and Guidelines pertaining to IW-RP Community RP. Infractions against RP Rules will result first in a reachout from the Admin Team, and then will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
IC and OOC:
The IC/OOC Line: We often hear that IC = IC and OOC = OOC. This is fundamentally true, however there are a few caveats to it. Writing is an artform and naturally evokes emotion, and it’s normal to be affected by the outcome of some impactful RP scenes. However, it is important to remember that you are collaborating with other people who have their own thoughts and feelings and may not have the same threshold for certain things that you do. Consistent communication and consent is essential. When the lines of IC/OOC become faded or non-existent, then we have entered into the realm of Blurring/Bleed. This is where players cannot separate themselves from their characters, and it can lead to a multitude of problems both IC and OOC.
OOC Temperament should never severely impact your IC temperament. If you are having a hard time not mirroring your own emotions in your character, then it’s time to leave the scene and take a break.
IC temperament should never severely impact OOC temperament or your view of other players. Characters will argue, fight, romance, and more, but proper communication and consent is essential, especially in serious scenes. However, if IC interactions lead to RP Rule Breaking, we encourage all members to Submit a Ticket so that the Admin Team can handle it as soon as possible.
If you are going through a spell where separating IC/OOC is difficult (and it happens to all of us), please take a break from RP. Taking breaks is something that everyone needs to do now and again, and Admins are more than willing to help your character have IC justifications for leaving for a time, and can help you transition back in once you're ready. If IC/OOC blurring becomes a continued pattern of behavior observed by Admins, then Admins will remove that player from the IW-RP Community.
🐺Player Rules When Engaging in RP🐺
Constant OOC communication is essential in mature or intense RP. Given the themes of this FC, there will be points where tension builds, and tempers ICly get out of hand. While these interactions can be fun for some, it isn’t for all. Check-ins are required to ensure that everyone is doing alright. This is true both for group settings, and individual one-on-one settings with other FC members. The expectation for effective OOC communication is higher for players with characters that are abrasive, antagonistic, or drama-loving.
Check-in examples:- ((Hey, letting you know [insert serious thing] is about to happen, is everyone alright with continuing?))
- ((Hey, my character is feeling overwhelmed, so they’re leaving. Thanks for the RP!))
- ((Quick temp check for the RP. Everyone good with a more serious scene?))
Consent is a requirement in RP that may significantly impact another character. Never assume you have permission to do something to someone’s character, or with their character.
RP in public FC spaces, such as the FC house/yard, are open to everyone. If you would like to do a more closed scene, then make use of personal private rooms or form a Party and go out into other game zones.
Absolutely no ERP in Public Spaces. This includes Private Chambers that are meant for public use.
Metagaming is not allowed in the Community. You do not have permission to automatically know something about someone else’s character that they have not found out organically and through RP. Your character should not have special skills or knowledge that they would not realistically have been trained in or come across.
Godmodding is not allowed in this Community. You cannot automatically assume your character succeeds in an action that involves or affects other characters. Roleplay posts that other characters are affected by should generally take a non-assuming, “my character is trying to do x” approach so that others may intervene or roll against it, instead of assuming the character will be successful automatically. We use dice to determine whether or not actions take place, or we communicate with one another to determine the best possible outcome.
Railroading and Continual Attention-Seeking Behavior is not allowed. Roleplay is fun when it’s an equal give-and-take. It’s okay for your character to talk about themselves, but you should not expect to be the main subject of every group roleplay or conversation.
Lore Bending and Lore Breaking While we here at IW-RP do not mind you bending the lore with your characters, please ensure that you do not break it. We all want to RP the fun thing, consideration for the immersion of others around you inside of FFXIV is still important, and our characters cannot be all powerful - nor should they be. If that is what you want to RP, that is fine, but this is not the space for you.
Additionally, if you are having trouble knowing where the line for lore bend ends / lore break begins, feel free to reach out and ask us! The lore in this game can be complicated, convoluted and difficult to find and understand.
Use third-person narration. We do not allow for first-person narration in this FC.
Grammar and Sentence Structure: While our Community is an international one, we require all IC interactions be in the English language and sentence structure when engaging in RP. That said, because English can be incredibly difficult for some, we will never police either when we see that players are doing their best. If you as an English speaker do not understand what another person is saying, ask for clarification in a DM. Be considerate and kind, and don’t draw attention to them for a potential mistake.
🐺Event Rules: DM & Player Responsibilities🐺
Our DMs are in constant communication with players. When needed, events will come with content warnings so that members can make an informed decision on whether or not they want to participate. Check-ins during events will also take place if the event in questions is particularly heavy.
Players are allowed to opt-out of any FC Event, even mid-event. We only ask that you communicate to a member of the Admin Team or the person DMing. This will not be made public to others, as your privacy is important to us. The DM will write your character out of the scene in an appropriate fashion, and no IC consequences will result from this.
All DMs are expected to respect character autonomy. DMs do not have permission to kill off characters. When it comes to things that are affecting players, Dms will give them the prompt they will use to express themselves, in their emotes.
🐺Inactivity🐺
While the IW-RP Admin Team understands that inactivity will happen from time to time, and for various reasons, we reserve the right to remove members who are considered inactive after an extended period. Please note that this does not apply to those who have reached out to us, those whom members have relayed on behalf of, and those whose schedules we know are tricky in terms of alignment. If you would like to report an absence to the Admin Team so that it is on file, please use the "absence-report" to inform us so that we have it on-file.
New Blood:
After two (2) months of not logging into the game, and there being no interaction in the IW-RP Community Discord, players will be removed from both.
Iron Wolf:
After six (6) months of not logging into the game, and there being no interaction in the IW-RP Community Discord, players will be removed from both.
Mythril Wolf:
After one (1) year of not logging into the game, there being no interaction in the IW-RP Community Discord, and after failing to respond to admin check-ins, they will be removed from both the discord and the FC. Additionally, once those check-ins take place, the Admin Team will determine whether or not there has been enough activity to constitute removal, and this will be on a case-by-case basis.
Friends and Partners/Affiliates:
We want our friends to engage with us, and we know that can be difficult sometimes given life. However, if you've not interacted with this community after six or so months after joining, then you will be removed.

History
The Iron Wolves mercenary company was formed several cycles ago by Ayeh Wicthaa and another miqo'te. The pair created it as a home for those with rough pasts and even rougher personalities to come and find work without added annoyance of judgement. They accepted all manner of skills and cared not about their employees' pasts. All were welcome, from Garleans fleeing their homeland, to nobles who dealt in shady circles, all the way to the cut throats of the underbelly. Not long after the company was formed, one of the founders left, leaving the Iron Wolves in the hands of Ayeh Wicthaa, who soon brought on her sister, Eirali Wicthaa, to help her lead. Together, the sisters nurtured the company with an iron first and sharp claws, securing all manner of jobs and hunts. They came into business with the distinguished Shi'anla Radusk and her contacts, the House of Mercier. The Mercier family had presided over the acquisition of many relics over the centuries they have stood, but sought another group to outsource their most dangerous work to. With a contract secured for this Ishgard house, the Iron Wolves began to shift from hunts and mercenary hits, to securing relics and hunting those who would use all manner of magic to harm the spoken of Eorzea.Ayeh and Eirali eventually stepped down, leaving the company in the capable and esteemed Shi'anla Radusk's hold. Lady Radusk shaped the company from a rough rock, unearthed from mud and dirt, and cut it to the fine gem it is today. While the free company does not forget its roots, nor does it shun the rough crowd it was started by, it is now operated with tighter finesse and stricter standards.Under Shi'anla Radusk's guidance and care - as well as that of her trusted colleagues - the Iron Wolves has flourished to the business it is today. The well-trained and well-respected members work skillfully to secure and neutralize all manner of relics and artifacts, be they harmful or simply too powerful to be allowed to exist without being contained. The Iron Wolves work for many who have the need, and the coin. If one has something they wish to be gathered or sought out, they need only contact the Iron Wolves to set up a meeting.Click here for info on how to hire the Iron Wolves for a job.

Become an Affiliate
What is an Affiliate?
Affiliates are those that work closely with the Iron Wolves, be that through means of Independent Contracts, Hiring Us, or Collaboration between Free Companies. Our main goal is, and always has been, giving the means in which character stories might be furthered, friendships struck, and community fostered. If becoming an Affiliate is something that interests you, please be sure to read our rules so that you understand how it is we operate, what we expect, and what you can expect from us.
Independent Contractors
For those who wish to remain in their current FCs, or those that are located off-server, you need only head to the application page and follow the directions there if this is something that you would be interested in.
Clients
For more information, please head to the hire us page, and follow the directions there if this is something that you would be interested in.
Collaberation Between Free Companies
The process for collaboration can differ between each FC we work with. We consider a few things when working with another FC to write stories.
We take into account our custom combat system, as well as their own (if they have one)
We work closely with the FC officers of the other FC to ensure things flow smoothly and all members involved in the storyline(s) will get the best possible experience and have lots of fun
We strive for collaborations to be organic and created through rp interactions.
Ultimately, each FC we work with will have customized interactions and plans to push forward in the stories we wish to create together. We aim to form strong community bonds that last between events and bring stories to all members who wish to participate.
